What did we do for St Francis Veterinary Hospital?

Dux Digital partnered with St Francis to create a website that not only encapsulated their dedication to exceptional veterinary care and professionalism, but also effectively tackled the critical challenges they faced.

The finished product even took out the Shoestring Award in the 2020 Australian Web Awards.

Their existing infrastructure was struggling under the weight of spam issues, so modern tech was required.

Budgets

They needed an impactful website to be delivered on a modest income without deferring to templated websites or rushed jobs.

Visbility

Users often found it difficult to find the hospital, so improving the presentation of location information was important.

What was the initial brief from St Francis Veterinary Hospital?

Three core project goals came through clear in the brief - 

  • St Francis Veterinary Hospital was overwhelmed with an excessive volume of spam, causing their internal IT inbox to become cluttered and inefficient.
  • The emergency clinic at St Francis was not the main point of contact during the day, creating a challenge in providing nighttime emergency assistance to pet owners.
  • Situated at a busy intersection, 5 Main Street in Osborne Park, St Francis Veterinary Hospital faced difficulties as customers often struggled to find their location.

What are some project outcome highlights?

Project highlights include -

  • We implemented server-level security measures and integrated Akismet into all web forms. This proactive approach meant that spam was effectively blocked, ensuring minimum hassle for the hospital’s staff.
  • A dynamic feature was introduced to display the emergency clinic’s contact information during specific nighttime hours, improving accessibility when it matters the most.
  • Visibility of St Francis’ address, location, and map was amplified throughout the website. By incorporating vivid photos of the building’s exterior and adding straightforward “Get Directions” links, the navigation process for clients was simplified, ensuring they easily find their way to the hospital.
